ATI Technologies Inc. has announced the launch of two new TV tuner cards called TV Wonder 650 and TV Wonder 200.
ATI Technologies Inc. has announced the launch of two new TV tuner cards called TV Wonder 650 and TV Wonder 200. These cards will be available in North America and boast of many easy-to-use features needed for Personal Video Recording (PVR) on the PC.
“More consumers are embracing the media PC evolution than ever before. With today’s announcement, these enthusiasts can enjoy new entertainment value featuring ATI’s high quality TV-on-the-PC PVR solutions,” Paul Lypaczewski, Senior Vice President at ATI Technologies Inc. said. He added that the PC was slowly becoming the sole means of entertainment.
“The Media PC is now a standard fixture in home theaters; extending the entertainment experience with truly innovative features. For example, with TV Wonder 650, we’re taking ATI’s cutting-edge HDTV technology, that powers popular HDTVs, to transform the PC into amazing entertainment consumer appliances,” he opined.
The TV Wonder 650 is equipped with High Definition PVR to enable users to record contents in various formats like DivX, H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and WMV9. Users can view receive free over-the-air high-definition broadcasts though the card. The TV Wonder 650 is to retail for $129.
The TV Wonder 200 offers users the chance to record 125-channels of live TV broadcasts. Users can pause, break or record in an easy manner as and when required. The TV Wonder 200 is to retail for $59.
Both the cards are also available as a complement with ATI’s new Catalyst Media Center suite, which can be a single source of all recording and playback.
