LG focuses on high definition market

LG Electronics is looking to position itself as a market leader in the emerging trend for high definition televisions.

The company is poised to launch its latest high definition model, which it claims offers unparalleled visual detail and sound quality.

The 32LB1D flat screen TV, to be launched nationwide from September 2006, boasts a 32 inch high resolution screen and state of the art XD Engine technology.

Providing sharper images than a conventional television and cinema quality sound, the innovative technology is housed within an understated black exterior, complete with integrated speakers for a streamlined finish.

Designed to appeal to customers seeking style and cutting edge technology, the 32LB1D will make a “viewer feel as though they have been taken from their living room and transported onto the TV set, film location or sporting event they are watching,” the company claims.

LG Electronics is seeking mass market appeal with this latest launch, inviting viewers to “join the high definition revolution”.

High definition televisions use four to five times as many “pixels” in each image as a standard definition model, resulting in a sharper picture.

The improved picture quality is most visible on large, flat screen models, explaining why high definition has taken off as sales of extra large televisions have soared.

James Atkins, marketing manager from LG, commented: “High definition TV has well and truly arrived in Britain.”
