Panasonic offers HD image web-service

Panasonic Direct has launched a high definition art and photography web-service for use on Panasonic HDTVs through a web-service.

The new service, dubbed ‘Panasonic HD Image Gallery’, features a library of downloadable HD image collections powered by GalleryPlayer, a high definition still imagery provider.

The content ranges from Monet and DaVinci replications to photographic imagery from the National Geographic, and 30 other content partners.

The gallery incorporates ‘Smart Display’ technology which automatically adjusts every image to fit the user’s display - regardless of the display’s aspect ratio and screen resolution.

Panasonic says the success of its Masterpiece Plasma Series, which lets customers mount custom picture frames on select Panasonic Plasmas, highlighted the market for HD art and photography on HDTVs.

The Panasonic HD Image Gallery is accessible from any of the major internet browsers. Prices range from 99 cents to $2.99 per image.
