Panasonic produces high quality HDMI cables
Panasonic, one of the key developers of HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) technology, announced that it is now producing and shipping high quality HDMI cables under the Panasonic brand name in the US.
HDMI cables conveniently connect home theatre products and allow easy controllability through one cable. The Panasonic HDMI cables are available in five different lengths with prices ranging from $49.99 (1.5m) to $399 (10m) to provide a variety of consumer and professional custom installation options.
HDMI is an interface enabling the transmission of high-definition content. HDMI cables are necessary to get 1080p high-definition resolution for Blu-ray video and high definition television and cable broadcasts. HDMI is also necessary to operate Panasonic’s new proprietary EZ-Sync system, which provides HDAVI Control for integrated one-touch operation of 2006 Panasonic Plasma TVs, DVD recorders, receivers and speakers, plus Blu-ray home theater components.
As a market leader in Plasma TVs and DVD recorders, Panasonic HDMI cables are a natural extension of Panasonic’s initiative in providing complete state-of-the-art home theatre solutions for consumer convenience and enjoyment.
By delivering crystal-clear, uncompressed digital audio and video via a single cable, HDMI dramatically simplifies cabling and helps provide consumers with the highest-quality home theatre experience. HDMI provides an interface between any audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable.
All versions of the HDMI specification support Blu-Ray content in high definition up to 1080p resolution. HDMI was defined to carry 8-channels of 192kHz, 24-bit uncompressed audio, which exceeds all current consumer media formats. In addition, HDMI can carry any currently available compressed audio format such as Dolby (including Dolby Digital EX 7.1, Dolby Digital Plus 7.1, Dolby True HD) or DTS (including DTS-ES 6.1 and DTS-HD Master Audio).
Panasonic HDMI cables should arrive in the UK very soon.
