Planar targets high-end home cinema market
Planar Systems has unveiled three 1080p full-HD LCD flat-panel displays this week, aimed at the high-end speciality home cinema market.
Already a leading name in speciality display solutions, Planar hopes its 37-inch PD370, 42-inch PD420 and 47-inch PD470 will cement its position in the high-end market.
All three models boast the 1080p resolution and all are notable for clarity and crispness of picture, according to Planar.
And, as is increasingly becoming the norm, Planar has ensured that all three displays come in a range of unique designs that will “suit any home’s decor”, as home cinema devotees begin to value the aesthetical merits of their gadgets, gizmos and AV systems.
“Planar’s addition of the PD370, PD420 and PD470 LCD full-HD 1080p flat-panel displays to our home theatre line gives us another opportunity to provide customers with comprehensive home theatre display solutions,” said Scott Hix, vice president and general manager of the home theatre initiative.
“We have leveraged Planar’s history and relationships to create a comprehensive line of display products for the home theatre market, from the ambient-light rejection Xscreen to a complete line of home theatre projectors and now multiple sizes of the full-HD 1080p flat-panel LCDs,” he added.
Planar is now able to offer displays ranging from 37 inches to ten or 12 feet, many of which will be showcased for the first time at the CEDIA Expo show in Colorado this week.
