Sky Sports to broadcast Ryder Cup in high definition
Sky Sports has announced it will broadcast coverage of the 2006 Ryder Cup matches in high definition.
This year’s Ryder Cup will be played at the K Club in County Kildare, Ireland, from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 September and broadcast live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports HD.
Sky HD offers viewers sharper, clearer, more vibrant pictures by broadcasting images with four times the detail of standard definition.
David Tippett, executive producer of golf on Sky, said; “HD will not only bring viewers closer to what is happening on the course: the players’ emotions, the atmosphere of the galleries, the contours of the greens, but also it will bring out the unique landscape of the K Club, and bring it to life.”
